Today’s connected world touches all aspects of our lives. In 2015 TaylorMade had an exciting opportunity; extend and enhance their brand opportunity by creating custom IP onto a commercially available wearable.

Wearable devices and the internet of things (IoT) allows objects to be sensed and controlled remotely across existing network infrastructure, creating opportunities for more direct integration of the physical world into computer-based systems and resulting in improved efficiency, accuracy and economic benefit. When IoT is augmented with sensors and actuators, the technology becomes an instance of the more general class of cyber-physical systems, which also encompasses technologies such as smart grids, smart homes, intelligent transportation, and smart cities.

Sonatafy was ready and able to create a custom solution for TaylorMade. 40k+ golf courses across 5 countries containing 11m individual course details became the master data set of the myRoundPro product for TaylorMade. Within 45 days, Sonatafy deployed a team of 75 engineers to bring myRoundPro to market on time and under budget.

With TaylorMade’s myRoundPro you can now track your rounds enabling you to keep a record of your scores, view every shot on a map of the course and begin to identify areas for improvement. Based on the record of your scores, myRoundPro analyzes golfers’ statistics in further detail and includes new data such as Strokes Gained, proximity to the hole and other classic statistics such as fairways hit and greens in regulation. All developed to help the golfer adapt and improve.
